I liked seeing Ronon as someone who lost someone else. I liked him as someone perhaps forced into becoming a warrior and not as someone who necessarily chose it. I especially liked him as a thinking person. He looked so relieved at the end. They gave him depth. Finally.
I wish they'd write eps like this more often. All these characters have backstories we don't know. One of the elements I love about SG-1 was the death of O'Neil's (sp?) son. Anyone on SGA might have that sort of darkness in her/his past.
I'm sure this has all been covered by the fandom.
