And I'm glad you liked the part about Clark realizing that it's so much more dangerous for him to be obsessed than an average person because he has to keep "Kal" in check. I didn't start out with that idea, but as I was writing along, imaging a super-humanly strong being this hung up on someone, it occurred to me that it would be kind of scary!
