Rodney works for one of the wacky, scary Roman emperors, and his virginity is forced on him, because the emperor believes that sexuality gets in the way of genius. And when John kidnaps Rodney and insists that he's going to have to earn his keep in John's bed, Rodney's protests are mostly pro forma.

Rodney would also be a very funny monk--so persnickety and that vow of silence would practically kill him. *g*
