I'm so glad you reposted this. I never read it in the comments because I can't take John with someone else. But it is John/Rodney after all and I loved it.

"You think I don't know you." It was more a statement of fact than an accusation. "But I do. I know you, John."
This is so perfect as is the follow-up of "You can. Trust me. I know." because he's just proven that he does know John.
