I know exactly how you feel!! I too scoffed at the whole Bandom thing for 2 whole years, and was so frustrated that all my favourite authors were getting all giddy about these scruffy emo boys. I was like "What is THAT all about?!?!?"

So two months ago, I saw that Astolat had written RPF about David Cook, the American Idol, of all people. And I don't even watch that show. Like EVER!! But I love her stuff, no matter what fandom her stories are set in. And it made me curious as to why *she* would be writing about something, if not bandom-related, then at least music-related. So I read them. And she's totally like the gateway drug to Bandom. She's like crack. Because I read them, and thought Huh. Well, that's sort of fun. And apparently you don't really need to know who these people are, to enjoy reading about them. And thus began my downfall. *g*

And I totally fell for FOB, and Pete and Patrick. Like *crazy*. I've spent the past couple of months diving into the whole FOB fic experience. And YouTube. And bemoaning the fact that I had waited so long. And also My Chemical Romance. And I've bought almost all the CDs and the DVDs available. And I feel like a 15 yr. old. Despite the fact that I'm 37. So apparently, I'm very easy. But they are completely and utterly charming, which I never thought that I'd say in a million years. Seriously.

So I whole-heartedly support your new-found enthusiasm. I'm proof that it's never too late to discover new lads, and being late to the party is never a bad thing. Enjoy yourself. It really is very therapeutic. :)
