Shocking, I know! Specifically, I was thinking how there needs to be much, much more fic, because...there just does. Then I thought maybe I should try to host a challenge, but then I wondered how much interest there would be in it. Hence, a poll.

Oh, it's not a "not my thing" thing. I can buy it in any case where they're forced or unaware of how they feel about each other.

I just see more lolz in them not knowing each other, falling madly in lust (and affection), and then coming out of it for the big "ewwwww! cooties!!!" finale.

I am not a writer, but after my recent rewatch of Firefly, I agree that there is just not enough fic. So, I will pimp, but that's really all I can bring to the party, hence my lack of specifics to your second question.

Also, I love the idea of Sex Pollen, only like Space Sex Pollen, but I love the idea of hooker Simon just as much.

Yeah, actually my OTP is Simon/Jayne too, but one of the things that I love about Firefly is the fact that I love all the characters so much that I can read and enjoy just about everything. Most fandoms, I hate or just not like a few characters, but heck, I'll read anything and everything for Firefly.

Pimping is always key to any challenge! At this point, I'm thinking it will be a casual free for all, since they're aren't that many people interested in writing. But still, more Firefly stories is better than not more Firefly stories.

They're could definitely be sex pollen. I mean, maybe they're smuggling some weird plant and a crate gets opened and...voila! It's the Love Boat. :)

I was talking to alizarin_nyc yea this very evening. And I told her that tomorrow was the posting deadline for the fireflyslash ficathon, which has lots of Mal/Simon entries. (I wrote Inara/YoSaffBridge, even though Mal/Simon is my favorite pairing).

Anyway, the Mal/Simon comm is called theprettyfits. Fireflyslash and theprettyfits have been fairly quiet lately, but that all could change.

The daily LJ newsletter is the_cortex, which lists all the new fic posts.
