Kindred: The Embraced, my old friend!

I was working from home today. Or, really, "working." I've been frantically busy for the last couple of weeks, and it finally broke today. So I made cookies, as you do. Chocolate chip. Num num. Although not as good as the ones [livejournal.com profile] linaerys makes. Hers are the best!

So I sat down with a cookie to watch a little TV, and Kindred: The Embraced was on Sci Fi. I used to love that show, so I gave it a go, even though a while back there had been a marathon on TV, and I'd recorded a whole bunch of eps, and tried watching one, and was very yeah-whatever about it. But today, I saw the episode where Julian and Caitlin go away together, and they have sex, and another vampire tries to assassinate Julian, and Caitlin finds out he's a vampire, and she feeds him her blood to save his life, and then he wipes her memory, because if he doesn't, he'll have to kill her or turn her into a vampire, and he'll never let either of those things happen to her. And then I remembered why I liked this show so much. Mark Frankel, what a sexy, sexy man. I'm sad that he died. Julian and Caitlin (Lily from Gossip Girl) really do have amazing chemistry together.

I might need the DVDs. Also, does anyone have fan fiction recs? I assume there's fan fiction? I didn't see anything on [livejournal.com profile] yuletide, though.

(I'm using my Lenore icon, since she's the only vampire I have.)

Oh my god, i kinda even forgot that show ever existed. All i really remember is that there were a lot of people in evening dresses running across lawns. If you find DVDs, I'm inviting myself over for a viewing.

Hee! That's a pretty accurate summary of the show right here.

I'm definitely getting the DVDs. So you must come over and watch with me!

Mark Frankel, what a sexy, sexy man.

He was the reason I watched that show. :) Did you ever see him in Young Catherine with Julia Ormond? It's pretty good from what I remember.

I LOVED Young Catherine. I thought Mark Frankel and Julia Ormond were so sexy together, and I just loved him.. That's totally why I started watching Kindred: The Embraced. I'm pretty sure I still have Young Catherine on a videotape somewhere. Mmmm.

Oooh! I loved that show. Well, not the Frank bits, but the Julian bits were lovely. If you can get your hands on the DVD set, I recommend it. (If nothing else, you can pause it when clothes start disappearing) It is OOP in most countries now, I think Australia still sells them on ebay, and the ones sold elsewhere sometimes go for quite a bit.

I have fic! It's in my LJ entries, or memories, or whatever. It's looong, and involves Julian and another man. (And not Frank Kohanik! Just...eeew.)

I found the DVDs on Amazon. I wasn't paying really good attention. Maybe it was only used copies, but that works. I need my pretty vampire fix!

And yay for fic! I'm going hunting in your LJ memories!

Whoo hoo! (Tidys up LJ memories) Now I have this urge to rewatch the show! Glad you found some DVDs, this show is a guilty pleasure. Ever seen "Leon the Pig Farmer"? Mark looks all of 16 in that film. He grew up real nice. *gggrrrowwwl*

I was a Cash/Sasha OTP girl. But Mark Frankel was so pretty and perfect in his role.

Yet another Fox show that I loved that got cancelled too soon (of course, then MF died, so wasn't much that could be done).

I loved Cash and Sasha, too. But Julian Luna... *dreamy sigh* Mark Frankel would do that thing where he lowered his voice and talked softly and yet menacingly, and it was the sexiest thing ever. Yep. I'm definitely getting me some DVDs!!

Oh, Julian Luna. *dreamy sigh* I had such a crush, I might have written Mary Sue fanfic if I'd known about fandom. (Though I'm pretty sure I wrote quite a bit of it in my head. *cough*) Just, he was so lovely, and I have all these kinks that are relevant in the context, and...yeah.

I'm pretty sure I've seen Kindred: The Embraced fic being asked for on Yuletide, so it's a shame that no one's written any.

(Btw, speaking of vampires, did you ever write more of that SGA AU where John is a vampire hunter? I've been keeping such bad track of lj lately.)

[identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com 2008-05-04 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it might actually be impossible not to Mary Sue Julian Luna, at least a little, in your head. Mmmm. Yummy. And I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for some fic this Yuletide season.

As for my SGA vamp thing, I haven't written any more, although I still intend to. I've been working on some original stuff lately that's taking all my focus.

I loved that show. I had all the eps on tape, but my sister recorded over them. That was a sad day. I was very sad when Mark Frankel died. Read fic for it, but that was years ago.
You really brought back some memories- that show really rocked my world back in the day.
