I love this! It so perfectly captures S1 Lex, his yearning to be a better man, and how that's all tied up with Clark, and beneath the tortured hopefulness, a sort of world-weary resignation that salvation is probably not going to happen. It's easy to see in this how he and Clark go wrong. There's just too much baggage thrown onto their relationship from the very start. Great job!
