I'm so glad that I saw this recommended on crack_van. I started watching Criminal Minds early this year and I love it. Although I briefly thought of seeking out fanfiction, I never followed through.
Anyway, the story was excellent. Reid and Hotch felt very authentic and the story, while a short one, was moving. I'm only sad that you apparently never did the longer story. Thanks for this scene, though.
