It is true that threats to our wholesome American way of life are everywhere, assailing our deeply held beliefs whenever we turn around. I'm glad to see that you are taking such a proactive role in trying to reverse this disturbing trend. But while Defense of Marriage and Protection against Pornography weeks are really swell, I feel that much, much more needs to be done.

Summary: This is an AU set in a bygone era known as Vaguely Feudal Times in a far, faraway place called Period Costume Land. Just so you know how historically accurate it is!

Droit du Seigneur is an urban (or, probably more accurately, not-so-urban) legend that feudal lords had the right to have sex with their vassals' new brides on their wedding nights. Happily for medieval women, this does not actually appear to have been the case.

Dedication: This story is for the lovely nerodi who is celebrating her birthday tomorrow. It doesn't have any pegs in it or quite as much fancy talking as I'd thought it would, but I hope you enjoy it. And have a fabulous birthday, doll!
