Okay, Mohinder and I are finished. I don't care what happened in the last few seconds. Or how pretty he is.

And I don't like Matt too much either right now.

So...I'm back to watching this show just for the Petrellis. Fortunately, the Petrellis are...the Petrellis.

Mohinder's a fucking moron. He knew that Bennett was dangerous when he came to kill Molly last season, so why is Bennet's ruthlessness so surprising? Yes, Bennett's a killer and a kidnapper, but at least he's not a murdering lunatic (Elle) or someone who does human experiments (Bob).

So, let's say that mo has plenty of reason to distrust Bennett (and he does)-- Mohinder still has absolutely NO reason to trust Bob.

Fucker also has a lot of nerve questioning anyone's morality when he's trying to kidnap a teenage girl for medical experiemnts. He can't guarantee Claire's safety or her freedom. Shie, mohinder can't even guaratee his own safety or freedom.

I KNOW. I'm not actually sure I was ever watching this show for anything but the Petrellis, but I was kinda digging Parkman there for a while. Now? Not so much. I mean considering 5YG it isn't really any surprise that Matt would become a complete assfuck, but geez. That was pretty damn fast. And Mohinder? All I could think of was how bad I felt for technosage. If she thought Mo wasn't getting the kind of fan-love he deserved before...well, I'm thinking riots and being burned in effigy are going to be the likely results of his actions in this ep. ::sigh:: Poor stupid, pretty man.

I know power is seductive, and Matt has good intentions, and that's how he's justifying his choices to himself. But he's grown up despising his father, and in the space of two episodes he's totally embraced his father's behavior. It seems a moral danger that he should at least consider the importance of.

Mohinder. Yeah. What is there to say?

Exactly! I mean, I get that he's trying to save Nikki and keep the plague from breaking out, but he's seen enough evidence of Bob's deviousness to be wary. That he would kill to protect him...*shakes head*

I get that there's all this moral ambiguity in the decisions they have to make, and that would make the story interesting if the way it plays out weren't so steeped in stupid.

If there was some compelling reason for Mohinder to trust Bob, for him to make the choice that he did, then that whole scene would have been powerful. But instead, it plays out so stupidly. I mean, I have a cold, and I'm cranky, but it really annoyed me. I'm all or moral ambiguity and conflict, but it's got to make SENSE.

And yes, Matt. He's despised his father all his life, and in the space of two episodes, has managed to model his behavior perfectly. At least, his choices makes more sense, though. He thinks the ends justify the means.

It's quite the episode when I find West one of the more likeable characters.

I have a cold, and I'm cranky, so I'm sure this episode annoyed me more than it should have. But still! The stupidity, Caro, the stupidity!!!

I am glad that HRG lives. I figured he would, but was glad to see my optimism come to pass. I'm interested to know who has him. I'm thinking Adam.

I think I'm willing to forgive Mohinder because I assume everyone's allowed that really really stupid mistake from which they learn. But he better learn and help bring the company down. I was also fascinated that Bennet might be getting through to Elle (Kristen does crazy well, man) and that she might help bring down her daddy. Also, I didn't even hate West. I barely wanted him eaten!

I think Adam has daddy too. Do you think Adam is somehow linked to Claire? Maybe he's in the Petrelli bloodline and the healing comes from him. *wonders*

Though I know this episode was bad in terms of M3happyfic making. Maybe they all need to go on vacation.

I'm going to watch the episode again tomorrow when I've de-crankifed, because there was a lot that was good in it that got overshadowed by my annoyance at the end. I think Kristen Bell is doing a great job. I'm interested to see what will happen with Elle's storyline, and hearing what was done to her as a kid explains a lot.

Hmmm. It's interesting about Adam. Could he be responsible for everyone's powers? He's had four hundred years to spread his seed. That part of the story has gotten very interesting, and I'm really looking forward to next week.

Hear, hear. When Mohinder shot HRG, I started crying--in front of everyone in our Heroes watching group. Never mind HRG's miraculous return: I still want to tear Mohinder to pieces. (Hm...will Sylar?) For all his talk of saving people and not getting anyone hurt, Mohinder shot with the intent to kill. He's no better than Bob or Elle.

I have to agree. If Mohinder's objective had simply been to keep HRG from killing Bob, he could have shot to wound, not shot him in the head. You just have to look at the history of the world to see that doing bad things to achieve some good pretty much never works out. And Mohinder (and Matt) have object lessons much closer to home that they can draw on.

I'm not against moral ambiguity, just not when it plays out so dumbly.

You know, that confrontation scene might have been really poignant if the circumstances made Mohinder's action necessary, but as it was...well, wtf is really the only way to put it!

Mo-Mo has always blown hot and cold with me. Its like every other episode he has switched sides. He is the Indian version of Clark. This week Lex is my bestest friend....next week he is evil spawn.

In the last two seasons Mo has gone back and forth with his loyalty, his morality, and his beliefs.

He reminded me of a spoiled brat when he was holding his nose after HRG bitch slapped him in the nose.

I am choosing to believe that Bob and Mohinder pre-planned to shoot Bennett, knowing that Claire's blood would enable him to heal (yes, bizarre science, I know, but this is the Heroes-verse) and thus he wasn't specifically stupid in that moment, but trying to end the stalemate as best he could.

Hey, I wasn't feeling too cranky tonight and I STILL want Sylar to eat Mohinder in a non-sexual way. And the Haitian might need to visit Matt and clean up some of that crap from his brain before he tortures any more people. (I've never felt this sorry for Ma Petrelli!)

I suspect the reason why the symbol from Adam's "past life" appears all over the heroes' population is because he actually might be their "Adam" - the progenitor of them all. Which means all heroes are related! Uh, let's hope 400 years is enough to create sufficient distance between all those kissing cousins. Incest in fic is one thing, but in canon... ugh.

Speaking of, I really want the Petrellis back. My heart can't take all this stress over HRG! *clutches*

Oh my God, it's so true! Mohinder does remind me of Clark. I WANT to like him, and do like him, but he's so inconsistent, meaning well but doing stuff that's so not right. It's maddening.

Really, the only characters I can invest in are the Petrellis. I'm happier when I remember that.

The actress who plays Angela is just amazing. And I like Claire's turnaround, going from being rebellious to frantic with worry for her dad. I'm looking forward to the return of Peter in the next episode!

I'm with you there. I used to love Mohinder, but he's been getting progressively dumber as the show goes on, and now trusting the company and SHOOTING NOAH?! That's it. We're done. Shooting Noah Bennett is unforgiveable.

No reunion this week either. When will our Petrellis back reunited already?

I like Matt less than Mohinder after that episode. I guess because I expected more from him. Man, I knew tv giving me a plot like that was too good to be true.

I was all excited about Matt-Mohinder-Molly, but sadly, the shine has really come off it for me. I don't understand why Mohinder has made the choices he has, not very good storytelling, so there's just no way to sympathize with it. If shooting Noah was just about keeping him from killing Bob, he didn't have to go for the head shot. He could have aimed to wound. Or, better yet, he could have refused to accept that gun in the first place. He's always talking about doing the right thing. That would have been a great place to start.

Bring on the Petrellis! Please!

Yeah, if it was an understandable character arc that would be one thing - but I cannot understand HOW Mohinder has come to trust the company over Bennett. The only thing Bennett appears to have done to make Mohinder mistrust him is kill the guy in Ukraine, which makes you assume that Mohinder's against anyone who's willing to kill to further their own aims, which is admirable enough, but that's exactly what the company is doing, so why does he trust them? It just doesn't make sense. And bearing in mind Bennett held back from killing Mohinder, for Mohinder to kill him to save Bob doesn't make sense either. You're right, poor storytelling.

And yes, Petrellis! Need Petrellis!

It's such a bummer, Punny! I was enjoying it so much. I posted this right after the episode when I was still foaming at the mouth that Mohinder shot Noah, IN THE EYE no less, but now that I've had more time to think about it, I do feel that Matt was more reprehensible. Mohinder and Noah both had guns; it was a fair fight. But Matt is violating people's minds, something they have no defense against. And he used the mind whammy on Molly, which is just unforgivable!!!
