Wow, I think you've done the impossible here. I actually liked Jor-El. Not how harsh his challenges were or that he would turn around and deny Kal Lex's victory by a hair (even though I'd kind of expected that), but his voice and general persona I actually liked - something that I hadn't quite believed to be possible.

This is a wonderfully written tale, with an underlying myth so naturally written that it could have as easily been the tale of Gilgamesh or Robin Hood.

Beautifully done.
