New web site
Sep. 14th, 2007 10:13 amI've moved my web site to Word Press, since it's just so automated and easy, and done a complete update. All the stories I've posted in all my fandoms are now up. I haven't abandoned my popullus site, because I really like popullus, and who knows if Word Press will someday get an LJ-like case of intolerance. I'm just not sure yet what I'm going to do with the old site. Maybe I'll turn it into a mirror site eventually.
For now, here's my home on the Internets:

Also: I'm in the process of setting up all my fic (heh, "all" doesn't seem like much compared to your impressive collection) and am curious how you chose/choose what to include for each story on the index pages.

I've gotten feedback on my old web site that people didn't find it as helpful as it could be, because I just listed story titles and no other information, nothing to help readers decide whether they wanted to read a particular story or not. So this time around, I decided to include most of the info I'd put in a story header when I post on LJ, and an excerpt to entice them. I probably should have also included word count, but I was more than halfway through when that occurred to me, and I couldn't face going back and adding it. *g*

Date: 2007-09-14 03:42 pm (UTC)It's been tricky, deciding how much information to include on the index, finding a balance between what's too much and what's too little, and deciding whether to then do leftover author's notes at the tops of the story pages. Right now, it's title - pairing/characters - rating - word count - an excerpted line or two - and date published. Then spoilers, betas, etc. on the "inside." Not sure if it'll stay that way... Hm.
(It's at http://bironic.nostatement.com [again, very plain!], if you want to take a look; I'd value your feedback if you have the time.)

For now, at least, I'm going to be using a subdomain on my friend's website, so I can pretty much design it however I like. It's bare bones at the moment, just a white content area against a blue background, with a story index and links to the fics on individual pages. Maybe one day when I've written more, in more fandoms, it'll get fancier. Or maybe that'll happen when I get bored. Who knows.
Thanks again!
