--Sylar raised the interest value of the twins' storyline to the millioneth power.

--And yet. If this became the M3 and Petrelli show? I would DIE and go to HEAVEN. Seriously. The beard is gone. Nathan and his mother have a moment. Nathan and his boys have a moment. The boys hate the beard like sensible people everywhere! Nathan is mooning over photographs of his boyfriend brother. All I need is Peter and Nathan reunited for my happiness to be complete.

--Matt loses major Father of the Year points for that "maybe what Molly needs is to confront her fears" crap. Perhaps that's a good tact to take if you're kid is having nightmares about, oh, let's say, pasta in squiggly shapes. Oh, the horror! But if she's afraid of a bad man with super powers who can get inside her head and knows where you live? Turning away from your fears is actually a really good strategy!

--Last episode, I kept expecting Matt and Mohinder to kiss. This episode, I felt the angry sex was about to break out at any moment. Oh, show! How you love us.

--Nathan and Matt working together = for the win!

--Oh, and speaking of Nathan, can he always be wearing that gray suit/black shirt combo? He can? Thank you!!!!

--Speaking of Matt, oh my God, what's up with his father? And the fact that all these heroes from the older generation have children with powers makes me wonder if the powers are naturally occurring, or if the parents did something to cause them. I mean, just because a parent has a genetic trait doesn't mean ALL their children are going to inherit it.

--Thank God poor Micah has finally been liberated from the lame-ass plot that revolves around Nikki and has gone on to something much more interesting with the new girl. She's so cool! And her power rocks. And grandma Uhura! I wasn't sure how I felt about the tragedy of New Orleans being just so much window dressing on the plot. It seems kind of insensitive to me.

--Claire and West brought back visions of Lana and Clark, which I SO did not thank them for.

Mentions of the trailer for next week ahead. Stop reading now if you don't want to know!

I like Kristen Bell, but if that preview is any indication, she's going to be playing Veronica with powers.

I know, I know! *flails* For me, the great joy of Matthinder is that no fan fiction will EVER be as slashy as the show. I love them so, Celli!

Seriously. I was all, Veronica Mars is going to find Peter. Who hired her for the case?

I wish they could have just crossed the character over, and she was actually playing Veronica, no powers, just her Nancy Drew mystery solving skills. And, hey, if she brought Logan with her that would good, too!

And then she, Logan and Peter could have a threesome. *looks around* I mean...

See, that would have been cool with me. And to the extent the show is pandering to me, rather than the everlovin' young male demographic, more power to it. (No pun intended.)

i really love the matt/mohinder plus molly storyline, too. i squeeed when matt and mohinder came rushing into molly's room when she was having a nightmare. and i didn't even care that matt and mohinder were fully dressed on not, oh, in hastily thrown-on pjs ;). i hope this plotline continues for a long, long time.

as much as i am looking forward to seeing kristen bell, i'm afraid that you are right. well, at least she knows how to play that type of character.

I'm totally with you on the M3 continuing for a long time. I mean, I'm a huge Petrelli fan, and yet Matt/Mohinder has become my happy place. I look forward to the show all week, hoping, hoping, hoping they'll have some scenes.

well, at least she knows how to play that type of character.

*nods* And I love Veronica. So I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Really, the people in New Orleans love it when TV shows highlight their plight. Otherwise, the American people seem to forget they exist.

New Girl is fabulous and so is her power. Man, to be able to look at something and learn it instantly is amazing, and she's just the sort of person who will use it well and love her power. I love that she's all about education and doing well scholastically to advance herself. YOU GO, GIRLFRIEND! Oh, and speaking of, I like her very supportive girl friend a lot, too!

Well, that's good then. I tend to view through a lens of 9/11, since that's the tragic thing that happened to my city, and I hate it when TV or movies use it as a plot point. But they are very different sorts of bad things. And New York isn't in need of help to rebuild.

Re: new girl. Word to everything you said! I'm looking forward to seeing more of her.

It struck me as one of those "they mean well" things, but boy, was it painful - and it didn't have to be. You have to tread lightly when you're dealing with real tragedy, and that, they did not do.

Date: 2007-10-16 03:13 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
Exactly. It was just a throwaway point of the plot, which trivializes the whole thing. I think it especially stands out to me because I hate when shows or movies do that with 9/11.

Punny, it's the cute, cute, adorable, wonderful, irresistible crack! And I say that as someone who prior to this season had one of the daddies wrapped up in an OTP with the psycho serial killer who murdered his father. Well, that's really still my OTP, because that's the dark, insane, disturbing crack. But, but... Cuteness crack! It's a must see!

I'm just waiting from Nathan and Peter to reunite. All this angsting has to be bad for someone. Oh yes, I'm just waiting for the bloodshed. M&M will cease to be the minute Sylar comes back into the picture.

From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
I keeping waiting and hoping for the Nathan-Peter reunion, too. Sadly, I'm sure they're going to drag it out for a while yet. On the bright side, our TVs may actually explode from all the Petrelliness when it does finally happen.

It will definitely be interesting to see what happens when Sylar gets to New York!

I am so pissed at Matt right now. If I were Mohinder, he would be sleeping on the couch for a week. He had no right to a) ask Molly to do that or b) ask Molly to do that. Seriously.

Date: 2007-10-18 02:11 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
Totally! I really thought that was awful. He knows how terrified Molly is of the man in her nightmares. The most important part of being a parent is putting your child's well-being first, ahead of anything you want. Matt deserves his stint on the couch!

OMG, this ep made me SO BOUNCY!!! The angst in the Matthinder household, the Sylar Factor, the lies between the Bennets - all of it! And oh, Nathan. NATHAAAAAAAAN.

(Hmmm, I'm not feeling very articulate tonight. *bounces*)

I am so bored with those two that I don't know whether to fall asleep or gag. I'm so not interested. If that little twit lays a finger on HRG I'm not going to be any happier with him either.

I like Kristen Bell, but if that preview is any indication, she's going to be playing Veronica with powers.

She's actually supposed to be kind of crazy or something. Unstable from what little I've heard. A cautionary tale of what having powers too long can do to you or some crap like that.

Date: 2007-10-18 02:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
I normally like Claire, so it's sad to me that I find her storyline so uninteresting this year. I may just be living in a dream world, but I can't imagine that they'll kill off HRG. At least, I hope they don't!

Date: 2007-10-19 05:37 pm (UTC)

Sylar and the boring-yet-hot twins! I am so excited. I actually screamed when they stopped on the road all, "OMG IS THAT GOING TO BE SYLAR?"

Word on the angry Matt/Mohinder sex too. They are so domestic!

I wasn't sure how I felt about the tragedy of New Orleans being just so much window dressing on the plot. It seems kind of insensitive to me.

Thanks a lot for pointing that out. Admittedly, I haven't scoured the episode reactions, but yours is the only one I've seen that mentions this. I live and New Orleans and was frankly appalled by the description of New Orleans and the use of the Katrina footage.

It's going to be so interesting to see what happens when Sylar finally makes it to New York!

The more I've thought about the Katrina angle they took on Monica's story, the more unnecessary and appalling it's seemed. I think I'm particularly sensitive to it because, as a New Yorker, I hate when 9/11 is used as a backdrop for storylines. It trivializes very real suffering.

agree on everything ... except the kids being purposely bred for abilities. i mean, i wouldn't be surprised if that was a plotline--but in real-world genetics, a mutation that's expressed as a new bodily function (like flying/regenerating/telekinesis) is dominant.

also, for some reason, i can't envision fanfiction for Matt/Mohinder, even though i love seeing them on screen... *weird*

Date: 2007-10-18 11:53 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
Since I posted this, I remembered that Simone didn't have powers, so at least, there was one kid of the previous generation Heroes who didn't get the mutation. It still seems weird to me that the previous generation would be the Company, since the Company tortures and kills people of their same kind. But maybe, in some twisted way, they thought they were doing it for their children? To try to keep them safe by controlling other mutants and keeping a lid on public knowledge about them?

Re: Matt/Mohinder. I can understand that. No fan fiction could ever be as slashy as they are on TV. I love our show!
