That scene where John and Rodney were each trying to take blame for the Replicator snafu? Um, you know, if snafu were the right word for genocide and the destruction of worlds? And John was working so hard to be comforting and supportive? I awwwwwww'd all over myself! And rewound it like three times. That's my favorite moment...possibly of the whole season.

Oh, and, hey, the rest of the episode was pretty good, too. *g*

But, but, next episode! Eeeeeee! Jeannie's back. I had no idea. And now that I've met Kate in person and have seen her really delightful play, I'm all the more excited!!!

I *loved* John trying to convince Rodney not to feel guilty over what happened, even though they all knew it was their fault the Replicators were systematically exterminating most of the Pegasus galaxy. Maybe John wanted someone to tell him something similar when he, you know, woke up all the Wraith.

Also loved his little speech to Sam about being in Pegasus to help everyone, not just to save themselves. Very "Victors"-verse.

I didn't know Jeannie was coming back either! And Rodney goes on a plain-clothes adventure! Yay!

Seriously, the worst thing that's ever happened to the Pegasus galaxy is the Atlantis expedition coming to visit. Oh the accidents of space exploration!

And yes! I did love John's speech. It's just so very...him.

I'm so ridiculously excited that Kate's going to be on the show again. And yay for Rodney's plain-clothes adventure. I can't wait for the ep!

Hee! As much as I love the Lanteans, if it's their character that's shaping Humanity's future, we're all so fucked.

Relatedly, I also loved the Seer's comment that never in the history of the galaxy have the fates of so many lives rested on the actions of so few. The expedition may have screwed Pegasus over in several ways, but they're also (mostly) the only ones capable of (and willing/dedicated to) saving everybody. Which they totally will! In an action-packed three-part series finale! *g*

And remember there's an angsty McKay Sheppard scene in that, too!

*joins in the heart drawing* I really think THEY ARE SO BOYFRIENDS could be the subtitle of this entire season. Yay for subtitles! *g*

I want someone to write Rodney sneaking in and thanking the Wraith for saving his boyfriend and making him even younger and hotter. Heh.

The upcoming Jeannie episode is called "Miller's Crossing"--a playful reference to an old Gabriel Byrne movie, possibly from the Coen brothers. (I've never seen it, but I think it has something to do with the mob.)

You know, I've thought about the fact that the Milky Wayans woke the Wraith and all the destructions that's meant. But then what about the fact that they would've woken up anyway, just down the road, and then there would not have been anyone seriously armed and prepared to take the offensive. No one who could shoot darts out of the sky, escape from a Hive ship, blow up Hive ships, etc.

Yes, the Wayans have also alerted the Wraith to other feeding grounds, but at the same time they've rescued people who would've been culled now or in 50 years, and they brought Atlantis back online, which has provided refuge for many escapees.

I'm not saying it's a wash--I think--but that the Wrait were going to come back anyway, and now the Pegasans (I'm just making names up left and right!) have an organized defense. That has to count for something, right?

(Not that I'd mind SOME continuity with Sheppard looking guilty every time the awoken [?] Wrait are mentioned....)

(One of the best Coen movies ever, imo. A great take on noir.) /OT

I like to make fun of the Wayans' misadventures, but I do think you're right that on balance their presence has been more helpful than not, with the Wraith at least. Because, as you say, the Wraith would have woken up at some point, and now there's a group of humans who are thinking about the safety of the entire galaxy and not just fighting for their own survival.

But...the thing with the Replicators. Well, that is a danger that the expedition caused that I feel pretty certain wouldn't have existed otherwise. Not that I blame them for not foreseeing the consequences. It seemed like a good strategic move when they made it.

I am completely certain that as soon as Sam left, John walked over to Rodney and they had a nice, long, tummy-nuzzling hug.
