I'm from (not there now, born, I mean) a town next to Belgrade, and while I know an IP addy is very, very little to go on, I might be able to find someone to "give chase" to this "supposed guy", if needed.

Boy, I have been ashamed to be from Serbia before, but this much? Not in a loooooong while...

For what it's worth, his "name" boyan is the how and English speaker would pronounce the Serb/Croatian(/etc, etc, old Yugoslavia was a big place) name Bojan, so that fits. Other than that... *shrugs, grunts in annoyance*

He was vacationing in Greece, Bosnia and Croatia this summer. That's how we met, he saw I was from Croatia when he got back home/@ LJ so we started talking. He had too much info, details, anecdotes, photos, everything to fake it. Plus, he speaks Serbian.

I'm sure you mean well, wanting to be fair and whatnot. And, hey, I'm a big fan of fairness. But when someone has blatantly stolen someone else's work, word for word, scanvenged her posts and comments, and even the name of her journal along with her bio, what other side of the story is there?

Maybe he didn't realize that thamiris passed away. I'll make that concession in the name of fairness. But for those of us who still grieve her, this is about so much more than simple plagiarism. It's about defending the work, the ideas, the legacy, the very life of a wonderful woman who is sadly not around to defend herself. And honestly? I don't care who doesn't like it.

What does it matter what his side of it is? I saw you say in another comment that you didn't know thamiris. How does that matter either? The cold, hard facts are that your friend is reposting not only thamiris' stories, but also her userinfo, her journal entries, and the *comments she left for other people* as his own. All of these things were written years ago. When you think about your friend's warm wit and insightful entries and comments, please realize that all of those things you enjoy about your friend were actually written by another person.

I don't give a shit about your friend's emo pain and/or reasoning behind their behavior. What they did is lower than low - it's despicable, and honestly, your continued lame defenses in the face of pure logic and facts, make me incredibly suspicious of you as well.

You said that you don't want your friendslist "family" to be full of strife and conflict. Well, I'm sure sorry for *your* emo pain, but not nearly as sorry as I am for all of the people who lost their friend and are now seeing her memory and work tarnished. thamiris is never coming back, and your friend has hammered that home today. The world does not revolve around you and your desire for peacekeeping. Conflict isn't fun, no, but neither is lying and deceiving and hurting grieving people. Is everybody supposed to pretend that isn't happening, just so that you can have a peaceful morning?
