It's starting to feel like spring, when a gal's imagination drifts off to...anything other than what she's supposed to be working on. Hence, a poll! A poll dedicated to randomness! And romance!

[Poll #1360772]

Not Sex Pollen, really: PON FARR!!!!

Date: 2009-03-06 04:57 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
I alway forget pon farr. I don't know why!

Date: 2009-03-06 05:02 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] mecurtin.livejournal.com
It's a sign that you should write a Pon Farr story for every fandom you get into.

Date: 2009-03-06 06:48 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] isagel.livejournal.com
There can never be enough Pon Farr stories in any fandom, ever.

You know, there really aren't enough Pon Farr stories in SGA. *ponders*

I was thinking I really melt when Mr.c588 gives me violets.

From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
Awwwww! That's so sweet. I like violets, too.

Flowers are great - and really any kind would work for me - but taking time to cook me dinner would get him an A+++ in my book.

Also, I'm split between pining and already so married that they don't even realize it. Those are my two bulletproof cliches because I am a huge, giant sap:)

Date: 2009-03-06 06:03 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
I TOTALLY am in agreement with you about the cooking thing. As much as I like flowers, I'd much rather have a man make dinner for me.

Re: the kissing scenes. Those are two of my bulletproof kinks, as well. Because I'm also a giant sap. I know you're shocked to hear this! *g*

Mmm, Julian and Lex <333

I'm sorry, but I don't like romantic heroes. I only like the bad guys!

Mmm. Lex. I'm totally going to devote my next poll to the bad guys!

Okay, my fave romantic literary hero is Lord Percival Blakeney, a.k.a. the Scarlet Pimpernel, and you totally forgot the "overcome with emotion because I'm glad you're alive" first kiss scenario.

Date: 2009-03-07 02:48 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
Oh, I love the Scarlet Pimpernel!! An excellent choice.

What is your favorite fan fiction cliche?

I was hovering over the 'pretending to be gay' button, but it really has to be 'huddling for warmth'.

Date: 2009-03-07 02:50 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
Huddling for warmth is a good one! As I was throwing this list together, I realized: there pretty much aren't ANY fanfic cliches that I don't like. *g*

Well, it's not so much about choosing to pretend to be gay, as about having to pretend to be a couple for some reason.

Date: 2009-03-07 02:52 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
*nods* Yes. Definitely. That's what I was thinking, even if I didn't quite manage to write it down. *g*

I ultimately went for forced to marry, but really, it's a toss up between that and pretending to be gay/a couple. I love both of those!

Your romantic hero choices start entirely too late for me and my Shakespeare snobbery. My favorite is Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing.

My favorite hot girl (real, not imaginary) gave me a jade tree plant in a tiny purple pot for Chrismukkah because she knows I hate cut flowers. They just seem dead to me.

Date: 2009-03-07 02:59 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
Oh, a jade tree! That's lovely. They're so enduring! My grandmother had a jade tree that she had the entirety of her sixty-five year long marriage, and when she passed away, she passed it on to my mom. It's enormous and still going strong.

Your favorite hot girl sounds very thoughtful!

Who is your favorite literary romantic hero?

John Thornton from North And South by Elizabeth Gaskell (a mix of the book-version and the movie-version). ♥

I haven't read that novel, and I really have been meaning to. I'm going to pick up a copy. Thanks for reminding me of it!

Look, I really want a fic now where Pete and Patrick's first kiss is when they're in the middle of fighting about music. And it's your fault!

Date: 2009-03-07 03:09 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
I hope it's my fault you feel the need to write this fic!!!!

My favorite fanfic cliche is person A catches person B in the midst of self love.

Date: 2009-03-07 03:10 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
I love that, too! Oh, the awkwardness! Oh, the hotness! Good times.

I never get tired of reading that. ;) It can always play out in so many different ways. Damn i need a boys wanking icon.

y'know, i just don't have a favorite literary romantic hero. does spencer smith count? :)

Date: 2009-03-07 02:17 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] kudra2324.livejournal.com
also, will any of this poll be leading to porn, by any chance?

Date: 2009-03-07 03:16 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
Hmm. Well, this poll probably not. But the last poll...I plan to write all those ideas. Amnesia! Patrick in panties! Fandom is the best fun ever. *g*

Hee. Spencer Smith totally counts!

Strangely, given how much I read, I don't have a favorite romantic literary hero.

And fighting > fucking is very very good.

The problem with picking a favorite literary romantic hero is I don't read romances. If I had to pick, I'd probably go with Mr. Darcy since he's the only one whose book I've read! Otherwise... Harry Dresden can be romantic (in the midst of his supernatural mysteries), does that count?

I *adore* fanfic cliches!
