Okay, first Bones...

I was so delighted at the end of a long day when I remembered that this was premiere night, and it didn't let me down! I was kind of iffy about this show for a good half of the first season, but I like David Boreanaz, and it's an interesting idea, and I always enjoy solve-the-case style stories, so I stuck with it. In the last third of the season, it really started to hit its stride, and it started off with a bang in season two.

The relationship between Booth and Brennan has really gelled, the intimacy, the trust, the irritation. It's kind of like McKay and Sheppard in that regard. It just really works for me!

Love the team dynamic. Hodgepodge and Zacaroni, indeed! Hee!

The one thing I was concerned about was the introduction of the new boss. My mind instantly went to Crossing Jordan, when they brought on Dr. Duchamps just to make her the villianous foil for all the other characters. God, that was so it made me want to gouge my eyes out. But this was cool! Cam is totally kick-ass. Another strong, smart woman on the show. That makes three! Dude, that's like a record or something. I liked that Brennan wasn't immediately antagonistic, that she took her time and judged Cam the way she would any situation, coolly, logically. I liked that they didn't make them instant enemies, that tired old cliche about women not being able to get along with each other. The backstory with Booth...meh. It didn't really do anything for me. I didn't have anything against it particularly, but it didn't really seem to add.

I am going to miss Dr. Goodman, though. I loved his dry sense of humor. And that man just has a great voice.

Also, I do have to say that I thought the resolution of the plot was a little lame. A slick operator like that private detective? It's hard for me to see him confessing that easily. They've had more intriguing storylines, I think.

Still, all in all...big yay!

I tiFauxed the premiere and just watched. I liked it - took the bad taste of the Yanks' losing out of my mouth! The show has certain weaknesses, like that stupid 3D image thingy and the L&O/CGI wannabe plots, but I'm drawn to its strengths, like the easy chemistry between the actors and the pithy repartee. My fave scenes were the stakeout - the two of them have such a nice back & forth rhythm - and Bones & Booth in the cemetery. DB looked really hot in the brown leather jacket.

And Boreanaz is hot. Did I forget to mention that?
