Calling all Profit and Adrian Pasdar fans! At brunch this weekend, [livejournal.com profile] linaerys and I agreed that there really should be a community for this show, and thanks to her initiative, now it exists:

[livejournal.com profile] boxofwrong

It's for all things Profit. So come post stories, icons, talk about eps, or simply drool over the badass hotness that is Jim Profit. And please pimp!

I very much approve of the name! :-)

Maybe you should also pimp it to the ninth wonders community. I am sure there are people there who'd be interested!

Hee! I thought you just might give it your stamp of approval.

And... *nods* Lin is going to post an announcement to all the Heroes/Pasdar communities as soon as she's had a chance to get the layout the way she wants it. Hopefully, we will have some dirtybadwrong discussion and stories to read come out of this. :)

Hee, thank you for the lovely - and disturbing - mental image of AP clad only in tight-y whites, flopped down within his refrigerator box.

Not to make it any more disturbing or anything, but I'm pretty sure there's no underwear involved. *g*

I haven't seen it in a while (saw it when it first aired) but I thought there were some rather obvious tighty whities there. I so need to get the dvds. ;)

I just ordered the DVDs. *happyskip*

Not that I've ever seen the show, but hey. It sounded good and it was on special with Action, which I deeply loved, so all good!

Action! Oh, I loved that show, too. Speaking of shows that were canceled way before their time. I should get those DVDs.

I hope you enjoy Profit! There are some goofy moments with seriously outdated technology and some of the ugliest clothes you'll ever see, but the tragic hotness of evil that is Jim Profit...well, that's timeless. :)

...I need to get Profit from Blockbuster and watch all of it, don't I? 'cause I want to do the squeeing thing. There's a box. It has to be good.

*nods* And not just any old box. A box of WRONG!

The out-of-date technology and ugly clothes will make you giggle, but the story itself? *shivers* I think you're going to like it!!

It was probably the perfect community name that did it, but I've now been inspired to finally download the show. It's finding its way to me through the interweb in this very moment. I haven't seen it since it was brand new, but a girl does not forget Adrian Pasdar naked in a box. And the nakedness aside, the sheer, amazing level of disturbingness (did I just make that word up?) left a lasting impression with me. I remember Profit as exactly the kind of show I love; hopefully I remember correctly.

Thought I might make use of the community to post some episode commentaries as I watch. If my brain can get past the "OMG! Adrian Pasdar naked in a box!" stage, that is. ;)

(Though really, apart from how visually stunning the naked-in-a-box shots are, there is so much content contained in that one detail of the show, and it places the viewer at such a vertiginous psychological precipice, that the naked hotness actually has very little to do with why it stays with you. It's just...such a box of wrong!)

Hee! That is one of the great universal truths!

There's some seriously out-of-date technology and ugly clothes that make a person giggle when rewatching the show, but the story itself? Oh, my! Jim Profit has to be one of the most fascinating characters ever to make it onto television. I watched the DVDs and then rewatched all the eps with some friends, and the second time around, I was sad all over again that there wasn't going to be any more. It's just a shame it didn't come out ten years later, because it would most certainly be the darling of Showtime or HBO.

I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the eps!

Oh, I forgot to ask, where did you find the eps to download? A few people have asked me, and I'd like to hook them up!

I downloaded this torrent (http://www.mininova.org/tor/402914) that I found via www.mininova.org. There are very few people seeding it, though, so I think it's a question of luck whether it's available at any given time.

You know, now that I have the eps on my computer, I could actually upload them to somewhere and post the download links in the community. That should be a safer, more reliable way for people to get them. I'll get on to doing that.

How, uh, would one find Profit to watch it? Is it available for download or renting?

No seriously, I'm embarrassed!

I bought the DVDs from Amazon, and I know they're available from Netflix, and I think Blockbuster. [livejournal.com profile] isagel said she's downloading it, and I've asked her for her sources.

Out-dated technology and ugly 90s clothes not withstanding, I highly recommend the show!
