But I think if something were to actually happen, it'd be the angry thing, because John is so walled off from his emotions and so obsessed with not losing control. It's something I love about his relationship with Rodney on the show - how he can't always keep that control, even though he really tries. So, yeah, I think it'd take a whole lot to make John lose it.

And hey, why not, since no strings attached, the don´t like each other, they are just walking in the same direction, and if they are talking the long way around it´s just because they like to walk. It´s relaxing.

Date: 2007-12-01 02:34 am (UTC)Rodney, being the prodigy that he was, never bothered learning more than the most basic social skills, and never got much beyond "No, you can't bite the other children!" since with smart kids, socialization was never a priority. So, as far as Rodney knows, or cares, there is no difference between men and women. There are actually five types of people in his world: useless idiots (the majority, by far), useful idiots (still a large group), useful non-idiots (few and far between), friends (very few), and lovers (practically non-existent).
So, yes, Rodney kissed Sheppard first. Because in his world, if you've had sex and still like one another, you are lovers, and lovers kiss. And Rodney likes to kiss, and hug, and touch, because while he's very knowledgeable, he is still a guy and can express emotion more easily through tactile contact than through verbal communication... not that he doesn't have things to say, because obviously, but yes, sometimes actions are louder than words.
Though it's a good thing he's stubborn, or Sheppard's initial reaction to their first kiss (a shove, followed by a "What the hell, McKay?") might have ended the entire thing. Rodney might not know "guy code" but he's fluent in "Sheppard" and just kissed the man again. And again. And again.
Until John kissed him back.
