So, Bronx Mowgli Wentz, huh?

As a Yankees fan, I do have a certain fondness for the Bronx. Maybe the kid will grow up to really love baseball. And Kipling. Or...something. *g*

I'm not even in bandom, and this news makes me go OH PETE and roll my eyes fondly. *g*

Hee! That's pretty much the only reaction to have, I think.

Let me say it again: OH PETE! *bg*

I thought, well, maybe the kid can go by his initials, but hmmm, "BM"? Not so much.

Oh, my. Bronx Mowgli? There go my plans for naming my first-born "Brooklyn Rikki-Tikki-Tavi."

This made me laugh so hard I think I hurt something! The world will surely be a little less bright now that it won't have little Brooklyn Rikki-Tikki-Tavi in it. *bg*

All the truly hip celebrities are naming their children Staten.

LOL! Oh, Pete. You totally got the wrong borough.

(I will admit I had a twinge of "hey, dude, what's wrong with Brooklyn" when I first saw the name. Mostly, though, I just thought: poor kid!)

Oh, but no man is an island!

I love me some Pete & Ash, but man. Man, I do not dig that name. I do love the fact that the two of them apparently achieved CONSENSUS on Bronx Mowgli. Just think of all the terrible names they each used their veto power on before finally agreeing on that. Actually, don't -- it's kind of frightening.

Okay, now I'm TERRIFIED.

When I first saw the name, I was glad they hadn't name the poor kid "Queens." I can only shudder to imagine what the other actual possibilities were!

Pan Pipes Wentz. Pan for Peter Pan, Pipes because he hopes he's got a voice like Patrick's, and bonus: PANPIPES. Or god, even WORSE word play. I think that kid's just lucky to have escaped puns.

I do wonder now if Pear Liberal Studies Wentz *was* their real name for a girl. That was an obvious riff on Apple, in the way that Bronx is way too similar to Brooklyn. So either this is a fake name or they have decided to name their child with deliberate IRONY. THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO MOCK CELEBRITY CULTURE, YOU GUYS.

I'm still really trying to hold out hope that it's a joke. Otherwise, I start to fear that they may not a hundred percent clear that their new baby is, you know, an actual person.

Yeah, and I think that's something a lot of new parents don't get right away? Like, he was in a stomach for nine months, so it's hard to really *get* that he'll be a person. They MADE him. Out of bits of themselves! Reproduction is cracked out.

I am hoping this explains why I have cousins names Slate and Mason.

I was thinking that he'll obviously grow up and fall in love with Posh & Becks' kid Brooklyn. They can get a little yappy dog and name it Staten Island.

My husband used to call our kids Mowgli. Of course that's not their real name. :P

Of course that's not their real name.

I think that's the key difference! *bg*
