It finally feels like spring here in the dreary Northeast. And I'm celebrating with a poll! Feel free to share more of your sappy thoughts about your favorite pairing in the comments if you like. :)

[Poll #1389293]

OMG! This was HARD. Why with the radio buttons and not the ticky marks, there were like five diffrent sap scenarios that I wanted to pick and now I think I'll have to write the one that I didn't pick... you are a cruel mistress.

...and now I think I'll have to write the one that I didn't pick...

My evil plan has succeeded! *bg*

I can't choose!

But a day game at Yankee Stadium would be up there.

Yes! Yes! That would totally be on my list, too.

I must admit that my pining for domestic fic is partly based on my anticipation of getting a paying job that would allow me to do things like buy furniture. I spend a lot of time dreaming of IKEA. :)

Date: 2009-04-24 11:54 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
Awwww! I hope you get the job you want and of the IKEA items of your dreams!

I have, really, as much furniture as will fit into my house, and yet, I still hunker down with the Pottery Barn catalog whenever it shows up in the mail and...imagine. :)

1)Bluebells! We missed them this year, though.

2)Sleeeeeeeeeeping in nice air conditioning. Soon!

I'm also wishing for tickyboxes. But since almost all of my favorite stories are first time stories, I went ahead with first kiss. Curtainfic, I have to be in the mood for.

Bluebells! Very pretty.

And hee. My love of radio buttons will just not be denied! I also chose the first kiss. I like firsts of all kinds, really. *g*

dogwood FTW.

Yes! So pretty. And as a native Virginian I have a special fondness for it. It's the state flower, and we had a dogwood tree in our yard when I was growing up. :)

My 'something else' for question two - finding some painkillers and napping on my nice warm porch.

From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
Aw, you poor thing. I'm sorry you need painkillers! But I hope you can nap on your porch. :)

I picked a host of dancing daffodils, but the one lonely crocus in the snow, bravely sprouting, did make me think of The Secret Garden, which is awesome. I just don't associate it with anything springy because it doesn't snow here. Ever. (sometimes we get ice.) :-P

Date: 2009-04-24 11:59 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
Oh, I love The Secret Garden! Actually, I'm going to pull out my copy and read it again. That will totally bolster my springy mood. Yay! Thanks for the inspiration.

Trilliums, Trout Lilies and other native spring ephemerals.

Hiking and taking pictures. != lazying in park.

Spring makes me think of mother's day and father's day and celebrating all of your family in general. Spring makes me want happy family fic.

It is not even spring anymore here in Arizona. It's getting into summer. It's been around 100 degrees this week. DDDD: This poll made me jealous!

Date: 2009-04-25 12:08 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
100 degrees already? Man. I'm not sure I could handle that.

On the other hand, until today it's been, like, in the 40s and 50s and raining miserably in New York. So...not exactly fun, either!

Awww, I am the only forsythia-lover. There is no flower more cheerful, or more early-Spring! It is spiky and yellow and wild and pure sunshine in flower form.

From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
Forsythia came in a close second for me. (I couldn't not choose lilac because that is my favorite scent in the world.) But when I lived in Virginia--where I could actually see nature at work--that first explosion of yellow would cheer my up so much. Because finally, finally spring was on the way.

My spring flower choice is jacaranda. They bloom EVERYWHERE in LA in May and they flower for a few weeks... then they drop beautiful lacy lavendar blooms on the ground like confetti.

Date: 2009-04-25 12:14 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scribblinlenore.livejournal.com
Oh, they are beautiful! My brother lives in LA, and he got married last spring. It was an outdoor ceremony, and the jacaranda were bloom, and it was just lovely.

First, LILIES. Oriental Lilie, either Stargazers, Muscadets or Arabian Reds.

Second, I desperately want a J2 AU where Jared owns a high end pet store and Jensen accidentally stumbles in there thinking it's a bakery because of the name and ends up adopting a dog, even though he's mostly allergic because Jared's dimples paralyzed his vocal cords and all he could do was nod when Jared asked him if he was there for the pet adoption.

Oh, lilies! I shouldn't have left them off my list. My mother has a beautiful garden. It's her pride and joy, and it's filled with lilies. She has daylilies that came from great grandmother's garden. And some beautiful Stargazer lilies.

Re: the power of dimples. I'm totally for this story idea! It's completely adorable!

So I live in Washington DC and it has kind of made me hate cherry blossoms (and the tourists who love them). It's impossible to get around during the week to 10 days they're in bloom.

I love your whole list of sappy moments. Yes, please.
